Is it still Traveller?

Yes, I know Traveller is just a set of rules but is this not what we (the skeptics) were afraid of when we heard about the announcement of T20...

Traveller (T20) and Pathfinder combined in one setting
Are you a Traveller fan, do you like to take to the stars? Traveller (T20) game system which is based off of the popular OGL 3.5 system by Wizards of the Coast is now Pathfinder compatible. Welcome to Dredan Realm of Metal & Myth, the first Campaign setting that mixes classic DnD (now Pathfinder Roleplaying Game) with the present day and futuristic play of Traveller. If you want a setting where your wizard can learn how to pilot a starship or drive a vehicle, then Dredan is right for you.

from EnWorld...

Now into the product description from Drivethrough...

DREDAN is an RPG Campaign Setting that crashes Science Fiction and Fantasy together in a concise volume for DMs and Players alike. A detailed rule set mixing ancient and futuristic play within 28 planetary systems encompassing 74 planets. You are no longer limited to one world within a material plane.
DREDAN campaign sourcebook uses a mixture of the futuristic rules from the popular Traveller T20 system combined in conjunction with the classic 3.5 system of rules. DREDAN provides a complete set of rules allowing these two game systems to work together and create a world that has anything you may be looking for in your campaign. DREDAN offers:
· 4 new player races
· 5 new prestige classes
· New rules combining Sci-Fi and Fantasy
· New items and equipment useable by fantasy or futuristic characters
· 2 new religious domains
· 3 new Deities
· New spells
· A system chart of the DREDAN Realm in full color showing the layout of this material plane
· A new way of using spells and energy from the Positive and Negative Energy Planes
· A new type of magic/scientific system utilizing Syntenetics
This sourcebook is a must have for players or DM's that wish to provide a "new" flavor to their new or existing campaigns

Now, I could appreciate aspects of Wanderer...although, I always viewed it more of Conan with without sorcery (instead using Psionics) type Traveller setting.

Now, I do appreciate that Hunter needs a revenue stream to prevent losses but - Is this really Traveller?

"Fantasy... fantasy... religious domains... deities... spells..."

No, it's not Traveller. Is anyone claiming it is?

Dude, this "Pathfinder" has always found Traveller compatible :D

But this d20 version, not sure, if with magic as it seems so then no, not really, but you have to admit, the ideas look intriguing, I can see Sci/Fi/Fantasy fans digging this,

But magic?

Yeah, I don't see anyone there claiming it is Traveller either. Nor do I see at a quick glance where you get the idea Hunter has a hand in or is getting any money out of it?

I have never felt that the essence of Traveller lie in the rule set or even the the OTU setting, but rather in what I would describe as the color elements.

As far as I can tell this is not Traveller as it has a strong fantasy component. It may charitably be described as Trevelleresque.

That being said I am a bit intrigued by this. I have played in some quite enjoyable Tech/fantasy mash-ups in the past.

That gave me quite a chuckle. When I think classic D&D, the dial on my wayback machine reads 1970something.

Quite a bit of T20 was Open Content, so they are likely just using those bits. I would be fascinated however, if Hunter was actually involved in it. I have my doubts, though.
