Ship ID - I can't figure it out

I'm trying to ID the ship on the cover of the Spinward Marches Campaign book. Cover

I was thinking that it might be the Nolikian Battle Rider, but it has the crest of the 4518th Lift Infantry.

Any ideas

Chip

I thought this had come up before on the forum but I can't find it.

I figured it had to be one of the three 400-ton system defense boats that the 4518th has native to it's regiment, being transported by the Battle Carrier. The size is right and it's the only thing that made some sense with the adventure.

Damn, it. It's on the tip of my tongue. Check your DGP stuff. I'm pretty sure that's where that ship was detailed (probably in one of the Travellers' Digest magazines...I know I've seen it.).

I am half a world away from my traveller collection (The preciousssss!), but isn't the recognition flash on the tail that of the Duke of Regina's Huscarles?

Don't the Huscarles have bombardment monitors attached to them?

It is, and they are aka the 4518th Lift Regiment.

The only space craft native to the regiment are:

Three 400-ton laser and missile armed SDBs as an artillery squadron for the regiment. (not quite what I'd call bombardment monitors, more like minimal ortillery/high guard command posts).

One Jump Shuttle for the SDBs (more may be transferred in if needed).

Ten 15-ton single place Fighters. And three dual place fighters available for recon.

Thanks for all the responses.

I've emailed Steve Venters to see if he remembers it (20+ years).

I read through the old thread, but it didn't resolve it.

Dan - was the "1248th Lift Rgt" another piece of errata? I only saw it as 4518th. But my wife says I miss a lot of things.

If, when I hear from Steve, I will pass his response on.

Thanks, Chip

Whoops

That'd be me performing some arcane mathematical conversion of the regimental number ;)

I have corrected it, thanks for noting it
