Ship ID - I can't figure it out

I swear there's an explanation of what class of ship that is in the book but I always have a hard time finding it.

Dan - So are you going to share your arcane mathematical conversion with us, or is that something we have to come up with on our own?
And thank you for your welcome aboard. Hey I'm up to six posts.

Vargas - You've given me something to do during lunch, I have the book with me.

Thanks, Chip

I think what happened was a neuron short ciruited and looking for a 4 digit Traveller number grabbed 1248 instead, which is the Imperial date of one of the TNE settings used by Avenger Enterprises. Silly neuron*

* or proof of clever subliminal brainwashing

* or it's because it's one of "those" numbers, you know, "nice" numbers
it's a doubling progression, 1, 2, 4, 8 (there's other types of "nice" numbers too, symmetrical/palindromic and such)

I think what you are hinting at is that Avenger is actually a front for a Zhodani cell that is infiltrating the Imperium.

Note to self: find your psionic shield - they're coming for you.

I would like to apologize for my previous post denegrating the noble and beneficent Hiver race.

Long live the glorious and friendly Hiver Federation!

Ok - kudos goes to Vargas.

On page 4, halfway down the first column under the heading "Adventures" it says:

"The cover of this adventure is an excellent illustration for beginning an adventure. Tell the players that there is some evidence ...
"The group, several naval officers, a crew and some marines for a boarding party set off in one of squadron's gunboats. Near as neighboring gas giant, they find a shot-up merchant."

So, it's a gunboat, presumably one of the four carried on each battle rider. Of course the book gave no specs for them. And my copy of Power Projections gives the Nolikian class Battle Rider with no mention of gunboats carried.

I also got a response from Stephen Venters. Real polite, guessed that it was a "Battle Cruiser", but wasn't sure if what he put on the cover was incorporated into the game.

Thanks to everyone who responded - Chip

Ah but which squadron? That seems the key, and as it has the 4518th markings...

I still think it has to be one of the 4518th 400ton SDBs, which are pretty generic and described in the ship page, rather than the 154th boats which aren't described.

EDIT: Though I could be wrong
As seems to be the norm, the art and text don't always agree. It's just the way such happens.
