OTU Only: T5SS Semi-Official Thread

Actually, the name and owner stay; prisons in the Solomani Confederation are often under the control of specific worlds, and Reavers' Deep 2540 certainly qualifies.

Certain usages, like Scout designations, transcend the Solomani/Imperial divide.

In any case, published data tend to be Imperium-centric. Aslans are Aslans, not Fteirle, Bwabs are Bwabs, not Bawapakerwa-a-a-awapawab, worlds and subsectors and sectors are named what the Scouts decide to call them, etc..

Note that the Cargonaut Press material is still considered non-canon. That is NOT shown that way by the Wiki.

I don't know... Marc told me once, and I immediately had four that came to mind that did not match.

Yano (Alpha Crucis 1235)

Yano (Alpha Crucis 1235) is a Solomani Confederation world; the Mongoose Solomani alien module, set in 1105, describes it as a barren world (E773000-0), its "small Solomani population . . . almost entirely wiped out by a comet impact in 983" (p 169). It does have a naval base. The T5SS data has it as a non-industrial world (A77 3654–D) with a population of approximately 7 million.

In fact, it looks like ALL of the Alpha Crucis worlds listed as barren in the Mongoose alien module have been overwritten with populations in the T5SS data -- there are no pop 0 worlds in the T5 AC dataset.

I'm not sure that is necessary or even desirable: many of the rimward and trailing subsectors of Alpha Crucis had only been substantially developed in the Solomani period. (Though exploration and occasional settlements could have been established during the Interstellar Wars or the Rule of Man.) I don't think it is unreasonable to have at least a few barren worlds.

And yet, we provided the data for that work.

I suspect we'll go with Mongoose on this, but I better check the specific worlds.

Was the area covered by work done by the HIWG in the past? If it was, what happened to their work?

Here are the barren Alpha Crucis worlds based on Mongoose Traveller: Solomani:
  • Morningside/McKenzie (1608 E792000-0)
  • Bootros/Dagir (2106 E555000-0)
  • Cirion/Alba (3103 E788000-0)
  • Ovid/Orichalc (0713 E555000-0)
  • Flyby/Oriah (2212 X100000-0)
  • Shac/Addison (2926 E6A2000-0)
  • Merlin/Regulus (1038 E310000-0)
  • Yano/Regulus (1235 E773000-0)
  • Keine/New Holland (2132 E100000-0)
  • Elton/New Holland (2339 E545000-0)
  • Inchon/Galloway (2931 E547000-0)
Yano is the only one that is explicitly discussed in the text.

Work done by HIWG is often such a copyright mishmash that no one wants to touch it. Or, worse, it contradicted published work when the contributors wrote the the material.

And often no one want to read that anymore. I think Rob and I are the only ones who see what's available and then try to hunt down contributors.

I'll go look.

I'd be happy to assist you and Rob. I'd just need to know what would be useful to T5SS, you, and Rob.

As it is, my work with studying the Astrography of the OTU is flushing out a lot of questions. It's pretty darn interesting.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
