The Imperial Corridor Fleet

The original Depot material is in Fighting Ships (Supplement 9). The Depot material in Rebellion Sourcebook is under GDW copyright. So is MTJ#3, which means that Rapid Repo is also under GDW copyright1.
1 The art in MTJ#3 is copyright the individual artists.

Hans

Ok fine observation Hans. So what are you asking for? RR was not well thought out. RS, MT:FS has a bit more expanse but not much. GFL yet a bit more...

I'll reread them, and see if i can add a direct quote to the wiki.

Hi,

Carnids of St. Hilaire

Aitmen of Aitme (I can't find an Aitme in the Islands, this may be an error)

Orpheides of Orphee

Page 115

About a paragraph of detail on each.

Kind Regards

David

The Carnids are animals, not sophonts. The Aitme entries are (sigh) an error. The Orpheides were mentioned in the original CT adventure.

So I hadn't read this topic at all until today.

Some items:

1 -- if you want to suggest UWP changes, the T5SS is still active, it's just been idling why I underwent some medical issues. Drop me an e-mail summarizing your UWP change, and I'll see if the update I haven't given Joshua Bell for Travellermap has some of that already, or I'll put it on the list for Marc to review.

2 -- Even if Rodge won't reprint DGP materials, both Marc and I have permission to use the IPs. Rodge isn't interested in doing anything, as he's convinced that the sum total of the Traveller audience in 2014 is Marc Miller, myself, Rob and two other people (I'll name Hans, Aramis and Mike Wightman, as well Roger Howe and Andrew Ford, as candidates for the two other members). He's been shown Mongoose sales data, Marc's Kickstarter numbers, and he's convinced Marc and I are delusional. Sigh. I will try again in 2015.

Actually, I'll do this differently. Let me go start a T5SS topic.

I've updated the Naval Depot with quotes from the Rebellion Sourcebook and details from Grand Fleet. It should provide a better basis of discussion.

Which MgT work?
David, to amass a fleet large enough and angry enough to overtake CorrFlt Reserves, Planetary forces, Private forces and any CorrFlt that did not make the trip to Capital it would take more than one event.

Multiple Vargr nations would need to attack from various points along the entire frontier under the assumption that these territories are unguarded based mostly on rumor, I suspect. The Vargr act is not unlike a starving wolf pack in frenzy. I submitted earlier that a failure in trade between Vargr and I3 outposts would work nicely to set the anger in motion.

Hi,

Deneb Sector is the book's name.

Just thinking that as Duke of Antsah he could command the Colonial Fleet and the Varger planetary navies, plus he could pose as a legitimate IN Admiral arriving at Depot to collect more ships, although Deneb's Depot system makes more sense for this.

I like the starving pack allusion, are the Vargr that dependant on Imperial imports though?

Regards

David

David

The book helps. Understand that there are probably 8+ books/mags now that have an even minor reference to depots and more mentioning the invasion. I have most of them, so hence the confusion.

The invasion is clearly across the entire border. Deneb, Corridor invasions have some details Each faction drove into rimward territories not across subsectors. Clearly a human traitor is mentioned in Kaasu but I don't recall anything that specific for Deneb.

So, what are the rest of us, chopped liver? There should be at least 3, maybe 4 of us.

If I understand correctly, Marc prints the CD roms that FFE sells. What would Rodge have to do in order to allow Marc to sell a CD rom of the DGP material, like he is doing with the other versions of Traveller?

Say yes, and agree to a price.

I suspect that a quote of the description of depots in Grand Fleet and/or Sector Fleet would be a better basis for discussion. As it is, I can't judge how accurately your excerpts reflect the actual canon. All I can see is if they contradict the CT and MT descriptions.

Looks correctly quoted/copied, but the non-canon edits were deleted. Specifically, we had mentioned problems in Depot UWP data and the lack of canon knowledge of non-3I Depots.

Also, some of the comments conflict with other canon. We know CorrDepot has 4 fleets, for example.

I guess I'm saying it's a work in progress. :) Let's keep at it.

Drakon,
A quick summary relooking at Snapshot of the Occupation. (MTJ#1)
Plunge is the head of route of trade between Corridor and outer worlds.
Probably a central point of the first attacks. Also, when they hit Lemish they munch most of the industrial centers. Lemish goes in to an effort to focus on rebuilding and surrender.
Kukish fights on...Gimming fights on...
They even enlist corsairs to fight corsairs.

No the Domain neighboring states didn't start it.

Hi John,

Strephon has just promoted me to be Viscount of Corr 1005 Mount A675887-8,
must have saved his life or something!

Do you have the list of Corridor Nobility, so I can see who my neighbours are?

Kind Regards

David

Howdy Neighbor. Welcome to Corridor Sector.

Drakon,...

Well there is surrender and there is surrender.

If we can keep the Vargrs to the starport, Franklin and Kudra, (the two cities on each side of the starport. Franklin is the system/planet capital and Kudra is the subsector capital) keep them away from most of the other areas, we have a good chance of survival.

Venturing outside those areas, I fear the Vargr's safety cannot be guarenteed. And the ruins of the two cities are also quite hazzardous.

But we have plenty of chocolate

With a population of 8 billion, Kukish can afford a bigger military than Lemish.

Since Ginning and Kukish are on opposite sides of Lemish, having surrendered, Lemish may be a staging point for attacks on those systems. I think I can assure a subtly shoddy job on the maintenence of the Vargr raiders that visit Lemish's shipyards during the occupation.

Any mention of the duke of Lemish in any of this?

I understand that in your ATU, you've formed a small pocket empire during the Rebellion. This could be fodder for some interesting stories. We will want to re establish trade as soon as possible, and I am sure the Vargr will want to sell their loot. Perhaps some clandestine communications channels can be established.

Your forgetting. They turn Lemish shipyards and factories to "glass" for doing that very thing.

It's quite possible that there wasn't any Duke of Lemish. This is all MT information, and Lemish Subsector is pretty weak for a duchy. Though it's also quite possible that there was one, if the MT writers didn't realize that. Or maybe nothing was said one way or another.

Hans

Well, that will make it all that much harder to do a good job on their ships.

We will have to rebuild the whole port, along with everything else. As long as we are ready for the second apocalypse.
