Another comment, if I may: Mizar's starport is only a type E. Surely it cannot be the subsector capital, with lots of type A's in the Ursa Major Confederation? And if it isn't, why is the subsector called Mizar?

They spawn by the thousands, replicating exponentially and despite seemingly successful attempts to eradicate - including genetic sterilization - they keep showing back up! There seems to be one prime carrier in the federation... a single vector spreading the vermin from system to system... a target for all the federation's resources...

At one point in the Introduction it says the subsector is called Mirfak, and also in the ABCD table and Yuggoth write-up, but the data says Mizar. The alien species names "yuggoth" and "gaugamelan" haven't been capitalised at the point they are first mentioned.
It's quite good though.
There's a race of uplifted bears called the Ursa in the Domain of Antares; I think they're canon.
