You will not make us vote Hiver, you will not make us vote Hiver, you will not make us vote Hiver... Oh Damn!

I voted for 2 ...

The Droyne: Because I think they are underestimated. Even without psionic training they have a natural ability called Invisibility (Alien Module 5 p15). Imagine how useful that would be for a Droyne sport working as a spy!

The Zerp: Originally from Group One's "Theta Borealis" sector booklet, I have a lost offshot IMTU as a minor race on Yori (called the Zherphani). Think of the physique of the Unas from Stargate SG-1 but with a religious slant like Rev Bem in Andromeda.

@Gruffty: here you are - my vote will always be Hivers first, Vegans and Vilani.
No manipulation necessary - hmmh, where do those naughty tentacles come from?

Interesting, the Vargr have gotten a lot of votes. In the local group the Vargr were not well liked. This is one reason I love this forum, to see how various people have looked at the same game and seen different things. :)

Hehehe! Just as I predicted!

K'kree get the lowest % of votes.

Good.

Isolation as recreation and meat sauce, anyone?

I actually think the K'kree's area of space has something to do with this. From what I know about the K'kree, I like them. I think they're a "cool" alien to have in the game.

But, I've always played my Traveller campaigns (all of them, for 25+ years now) in the Spinward Marches. I've never had a campaign outside of that sector? Why? All the support the SM has. The adventures I've chosen to play were always set there. I always wanted to play in the Solomani Rim, but I never made it there.

Thus, I've had little reason to read up on the K'kree. They haven't been focal in the Marches. Now, the Droyne, the Vargr, the Zho's, and the Aslan...yeah, those I know more about because...yep, you guessed it...they're more common in the Marches.

I suspect that what you say is actually true, S4.

Personally, whilst I have Reffed and played in the SM in the (dim and distant) past, my game focus has predominantly been more to Trailing/Rimward - SC/HF sort of region (especially Spica ;) ). Even with the K'kree being next door to the HF in my chosen area of Charted Space, I've never really been inspired by the K'kree in any way.

This is possibly because We Kicked Their A**es. :D ;)

Woof. Wuff? Grrrrrrr-ROWROWROWROW!

Indeed, 'tis a veritable boiling pot of diverse opinions and ideas here abouts :) I too find it surprising about the popularity of the Dogg...uhm, Vargr. Perhaps it's that "man's best friend" thing.........

Voted Vagr

Hey you gotta love the Vagr. They always have a howling good time, and they were the original Space Wolves. (Look up the books to understand what I mean) Besides, nobody drives an air raft or a G-Carrier insanely fast like a Vagr.
