Which science fiction show, whether movie or TV series, has the best main theme?
Star Wars, of course, comes to mind. That's an amazing main theme.
I think Goldsmith's theme for Star Trek The Motion Picture is, likewise, amazing.
Star Trek has has some other very good themes--the title themes to Deep Space Nine and Voyager are exceptional. And, I love what Horner did with Star Trek II and III. Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country has a neat, dark, brooding theme. And Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home has an interesting theme, though not of the quality of these others I'm mentioning.
Of all the great sci-fi themes that exist, if I had to pick one as my favorite, I'd have to go with the main title them of the original Battlestar Galactica.
I just love that piece. Bold. Majestic. A suitable theme for a group of warriors battleing the odds against survival.
How about you.
