just how many ships make up an average "Fleet" or "battle Group""????....is there even a standard to go by....what does it consist of or what type of vessels are in it....

MT answer:
"Several squadrons make a fleet."
Now FSOTSI might be shite on stats fer ships, but it does give good squadron layout. SO a sqdn might have as many as 12-25 large (1500dtn+) sized vessels in it, and a swarm of smaller Close escorts as well per ship fer screening/ Highguard, etc.
Carrier sqdns exceed this due to sheer number of space Ftrs carried as well.
Every sqdn has a flag ship, plus four of its class
six to eight scouts & couriers,
4 escorts (2-10ktns sized, not DEs or 1ktn sized), and support craft (tankers, munitions, beans bullets, bacon, etc)
