Hey ,Ty - a question ......suppose someone went to the trouble of making a sock puppet account on a forum they were banned from, simply to get involved in accusations of fraud and to generally damage someones business reputation, you know the person who banned them - how would that play in a defamation case or general civil lawsuit ? Particulalry if it turned out they had no financial interest in the issue, at all ?

Certainly it would have ramification regarding US state laws on cyberstalking, persistent harassment using a variety of anonymous identities. And I doubt being in Canada would be much of a defence. Under Section 264 of the Criminal Code a suit can be filed for harrassment and an interim restraining order can be placed upon the accused.

Of course you'd need to be able to identify them first.

Stick to blocking IP addresses and banning users. Nice to see them come on and bitch when Hunter plainly isn't able to answer back for whatever reason. Typically trollish behaviour. :smirk:

Yes, but not me (I havn't been trying to contact him).
The message forwarded to the masses is something to the effect that Hunter has handled the pending renewal of the COTI website. [my very loose paraphrase].

2. Is the TA Solomani ships still coming out or not?

I would venture to guess that all pending QLI projects are currently on hold, but YES, TA Solomani ships will one day see publication. I base that on no secret knowledge, but just a personal feeling. Hunter will deal with 'Real Life' and return. When he does, things will again move forward.

You know, it's kinda funny you should ask. If memory serves, a woman is being prosecuted for a criminal offense for violating the terms of Myspace by using a sockpuppet. She used it to drive a minor to suicide. But still, the alleged crime is using a sockpuppet. Legal experts generally agree that this is a deeply flawed application of the law. So the defendant will probably lose

And in the US, "truth" is generally a defense to charges of defamation. I'd imagine a defamation/libel suit would turn on whether our sockpuppet actually claimed to have lost money and if so, if he actually lost that money. Given his history of misrepresentation, I would wager that the answer to at least one of those questions is "no".

One the Solomani ships TA thread Kharum1 says's he's pulled permission to use his images for lack of payment and non-contact. So I guess that means no it's not coming out.

As I've noted (elsewhere) iirc the TA is complete but for artwork. Kharum pulling his artwork does not necessarily kill the TA. To my recollection Kharum was doing only the artwork.

I will delay it if Hunter proceeds again yes, since he'll have to get artwork again.

Revelation Station was a major let down, in terms of quality compared to other TA/EA. I still have one issue left in my subscription and only a TNE EA to choose from. Highly disappointing considering I bought this subscription over 3 years ago. We hear things are coming then everything stops.
