I have been waiting patiently

When you reiterate with sympathy an accusation, that is much the same as agreeing with it.

It really doesn't. Acknowledging that there may be a reason to express certain opinions doesn't even remotely imply that one agrees with those opinions (I didn't even say that I had any "sympathy" for them, just that it would be easy to come to that conclusion).

So many words and so little substance.
[a comment on several interrelated topics in their entirety and not on the immediately preceding posts in particular.]

As someone not owed money by QLI but who deeply enjoys talking about Classic Traveller on COTI, I wish that there was one more 'secret forum' (like T5, the Moot and the Pit) where publishers and artists and others with more direct business to handle with Hunter/QLI could post free from pro/anti QLI editorials. If I wanted endless bickering, I would re-subscribe to the TML.

I doubt that the 10% that needs to be seen will be noticed amongst the vast sea of ‘noise.’

I agree with Odegra.

Example: If there is a thread where someone is discussing the reasons why they are making a house rule on something, I could post agreeing or disagreeing with one of the reasons. This in no way implies that I agree with or disagree with the house rule - just one of the reasons.

I just found this web site about a month ago and have no idea who hunter is so obviously my agreement with Odegra on this point is not support of anything he has to say about Hunter.

Until all the recent numerous threads and postings about issues with Hunter I was very much enjoying this site. Is anything they are saying untrue? I wouldn't know. It is very negative though and its reduced my enjoyment of the site. If it were not for the PBP I'm not sure if I would keep coming back here at this time or just hang out on different forums.

So as far as people being restricted/banned or whatever, I can see the moderators side of it too; because the comments are having a negative impact on me and I'm not even involved.

I just went back over the two threads, On March 8th 2008 Hunter say's He's waiting on the Artwork:
Kharum1 sent him emails with artwork on March 8, 17, 23, April 2, 4, 11 or some such.

I also see several posts form people who have paid for TA's going back to June 2005. It is now the last day of June 2008.

(from the Solomani TA Thread)
>*sigh*

>I think the chance of this .pdf coming out are about the same as snow falling in Miami in August.

Too which I replied Hunter enjoying snowball in Miami.

I apologize for the ill thoughout song pun.

But the core question remains, three years, lots of promises, no product, no answer.

I Just went back over threads for the last year

Next TA: started October 13, 2007
Etherflyer and Fritz_Brown both have subscriptions remaining

Any Traveller Aides or Epics : Started July 7, 2007
Hunter says Solomani Ships TA waiting for artwork

What Ever Happened to Solomani Ships TA: Jan 27, 2008
Hunter says Solomani Ships TA waiting for artwork

(Maybe I've got these two confused)

Missing Order: April 8, 2008
No replies to this were posted

Actually, I just went back over all threads back to 2005,

Next Traveller Aide: Started June 25, 2005
Lord Vince has a twelve issue subscription.

Well I've stirred it up enough, I think the point is clear.

To be clear here. Hunter had all but one ship image sent to him for the TA. What he did with them, I have no idea. Read the blog.

Here's a question:

Mr Aramis,
If I went to wallywordl.com and orderd a widget, paid for widget and was told widget was on back order would you think it was right and fair if I waited three years for the widget and only recieved promises from wallyworld.com?

Is QLI a business?

Did QLI recieve money for widgets?

Did the widget ever arrive?

How long should people wait for thier widgets?

I'm asking about widgets and businesses NOT PEOPLE.

You made an investment. You bought widget futures. You took a risk that those future widgets might not arrive.

No, they bought a service and a product. A contract was entered into whether it was implied or not. The service or product must be delievered/ acted on until the agreed apon date, which I beleive was 12 issues.

Yes if you paid for a subscription then I'm pretty sure that legally both parties have entered into a contract where one side pays money up front and the other has to provide the products until the full subscription is fulfilled. I would expect that customers who have not received their full subscription are entitled to demand a partial refund at any point (good luck getting that here though).

It's really nothing to do with "futures".

On the subscription issue re TA's I'm pretty sure it was worded that you had a 12 month/6 or 12 issue subscription. Hunter relented when he was unable to keep the pace of one TA a month and some grumbled. It was his generosity that allowed the issues to be carried over beyond the subscription terms. The full subscription terms are fulfilled when the year runs out. If a subscriber does not take advantage of all offers in the time alloted as long as they are able to, that's too bad.

In reality those who did not take advantage of downloading a selection of their 6 or 12 TAs from the large list available because some didn't appeal to them should have been sol on that count with nobody to blame but themselves.

Maybe the wording changed later or I'm misremembering it but I don't think so.

Go ahead, call me harsh, but that's it if you want to start getting all legal about it*. Aramis's "futures" analogy is very close to the mark.

* But I am not a lawyer.

Correct me if i'm wrong but wouldn't a lot of people subscriptions have run out while Hunter was away for a long time and wasn't offering any kind of replacement?

And where is this "large list" that you're talking about? The last TA I can find on the store here is TA#8, which is less than 12 (I can't even find the others on this website, its really hard to navigate around the store). If people paid for a 12 issue subscription then by my crude math that is at least four issues that they are owed. Passing the blame onto the subscribers because the provider failed to provide 12 issues seems really irrational to me.

So if I buy a 12 month subscription to Naked Vargr magazine but after 4 issues Naked Vargr Publishing IIC realise that they have only a "snowball's chance in Miami" of meeting their part of the subscription terms and offer Solomani Woodworking for Seniors instead - it is my fault if I dont make up the rest of the subscription with the offered material (which is not what I subscribed to in the first place) because the material offered does not interest me at all???!!!!

LOL... I wish businesses in real life could get away with acting as such.

Dragon and Dungeon did so. It's actually rather common in the magazine world.

I got a board game in place of my last two issues of Nexus magazine, when TFG decided to stop publishing.

Last I checked, the other QLI T20 supplements in the same price range.

But the ones I got were all due to playtest credit and moot subscriptions (And no, the moot subs no longer carry a free product DL).
