Other considerations may call for extra large high jump mega ships for the Core.
I could easily see distributed hull 500k (1,000k?) ships with installed J-4 drives, and meson and nuke dampers, and a high security compartment black globe already installed.
Maybe J-2 tanks on board, and 10k clamps which usually use cargo and pax pods for Core service, but can also haul 10k riders or army units and lander pods or fuel pods.
The 3I gives no interest loans and subsidies for the fuel stations and 10k capable lifters to orbit. In return, they can call on the ships when they need them. The army pods and riders are parked at different systems, or at depots. Most likely near the crews and troops, though.
Next time there is a Rim war, 10 or 20 get called up. Or not, depending on politics.
The Core economy also gets the cheaper cargo transport it needs for bulk transport and massive ability to move people.
