New thought about the course of Traveller

Heh. Winchell himself said (when he was re-doing the Annic Nova, just recently) that he wished he had the skills back then that he has today.

And mused about how his artwork might look now, if he had had those skills back then, plus the extra 30 years since...

(I hope you've all seen his updated Annic Nova, and been suitably blown away!) Here:

I love guys that can look back at themselves and say "Wow, I've improved", and really have legitimately increased their skill level.

Sent to Marc. There was a recent discussion of revisiting Annic Nova now that T5 can actually design the ship, and since there's this beautiful artwork begging to be used...

Why, thank you, sir!
Though I still don't think I can hold a candle to Rob Caswell, Tom Peters, William Keith, and the other Traveller grand master artists.

I always liked the dark quality of the Annic Nova drawings, as crude as they were. If you do more, is there a way to make them darker? Maybe behind a moon or in a far outer system?

The other stuff is really good, too.

Tricky, and not exactly canon. They would get in the way of the four small probe drones.
Is this for some homebrew variant?

I like that idea leave the view. But a second version with 4 small craft in an X with perhaps a "scientific module" below to compete with the survey ship as a 1000dt version. Adds another nice adventure to the canon.

Yes it was.

But the upside down version has been shown again and again, so it has become canon. If I tried flipping it over everybody would yell at me.

I wouldn't. I would applaud you.

And I disagree that the upside down version has become canon. Not unless and until the deckplans have been flipped upside down too. If the deckplans remain right side up, the old picture remains upside down.
