Part of the reason I went with MGT instead of CT is because I thought more people would be playing...

Just FYI, there are more people playing CT than any other version of Traveller. I estimate about 40% of the total number of people playing Traveller play CT, or some version of it. The other 60% is divided among all the other editions of Traveller.

Now, this data was eye-balled before MGT's release, and MGT is Mongoose's best selling game ever. So, maybe that will change.

Then again, CT has remained as popular as it is for the last 30 years. The old girl is quite resilient.

It's quite refreshing to see die-hard CT and MT Travellers who appreciate a new product. Or rather, it's quite refreshing to see that there's a product that can satisfy CT and MT players. That tells me they did something right, and that there's something about CT and/or MT that's reproducible; i.e. it's not just a bunch of has-been gamers who are pining for the olden days, after all (well not all of them anyway :).

There are many places on Earth where one can get six-sided dice immediately, and polyhedral dice only after great fuss and botheration.

This is a major point in favor of older, wargame-derived TRPGs.

Further, CT requires no minis!

In terms of logistics, this makes pick-up games infinitely easier.
