I rolled a character tonight that got 2xCombat Implants and I have a question. Under Wafer Jack (TL 12) it says:

A wafer jack is a Computer/2 (Computer/4 at TL 13)....

and under Computers it says

Storage space is effectively unlimited at TL9 and above

Does this mean the character could have an unlimited # of expert programs stored in his head and could call them up as needed as long as he wasn't running more programs at once than permitted?

That's what my take on the description was, with the first selection your wafer-jack would be TL12. With your second cbt. implant, you could either up the TL of the wafer-jack to TL 13, or pick a different implant.

That brings up a problem I had last night while reading through some of the rules. I noticed that on pg. 102, there is an example of adding options to a weapon. In this example, a computer is added, and then the program expert(gun combat) to grant a +1 to combat, and allows the gun to fire on its own at skill 1.

Under the computer program rules on pg. 92, it states that expert programs can only be used for INT or EDU based checks.

Im confused, how can you use the gun to shoot since shooting is based on DEX? Did I misread something?

While I am on the subject....the weapons customization example also says that the bonus can be applied if the task is Very Difficult or less, but the table on 93 says that a rating/3 expert program can be used up to a formidable task, which the program was supposed to be rating/3 because of the specialization.

Am I reading these rules right?
