Is it just me, or does the cover of Alien realms sort of look like everybody it sitting in invisible chairs?

Supposedly, the original rough for the painting was even more so.

It looks like someone slipping on ice or a model clumsily posed on a chair. It doesn't look like someone getting blown back by an explosion.
