Mothballed ships; decommissioning

Hello Everyone,
I have upgraded my main computer (I mothballed the old P 200MMX to the attic, replaced it with the P3 600 that used to be my main computer, and replaced that with a P4 1.8). But, the P3 had a DVD burner (because the the burner version only cost about $15 more than a DVD ROM when I added it) and the P4 only had DVD ROM so I swapped them out. Also my hard drive had died and I replaced it with a 100 Gig model while the P4 only had a 30 Gig version so I swapped them. The P3 was running 98SE and I somehow erased all my files that I wanted to save like "Favorites" before I intended to so I am re-building them. All that to say, I ain't gonna read everything I missed while I was gone.

I tend to agree with Plankowner that with proper care and mantainance, the life of a hull before it reaches the BER point can be a lot longer than a wet navy ship.

I skimmed through some of this thread, but didn't see any mention of "Arival Vengenance" which gives ammo to those supporting the usefullness of mothballing in 3I.

Just my 2Cr worth.
